About Inkwell


Inkwell is a creative learning space offering classes and workshops in many forms of creativity, as well as a shop carrying literary journals, a curated collection of books as well as a selection of bookish and creative items.

Owned by award-winning author Meg Grehan, Inkwell aims to be a creative hub in Donegal Town. We’ll be hosting open-mic and literary events, book clubs, creative meet-ups and groups as well as hosting guest teachers and facilitators. Meg will also be offering creative coaching and editing services.

Inkwell will also be working closely with the wonderful Pretty Baked Bakery. Located right across from Inkwell they boast the best treats, savoury bites and coffees. Why not grab a coffee and a snack from Pretty Baked, come take a seat in Inkwell and work on your latest project in a warm and welcoming environment!

About Meg

Meg Grehan is an award winning author of novels-in-verse for young readers.

Meg has had four books published with a fifth set for publication in May 2025. The Space Between won the Eilís Dillon Award for a First Children's Book at the Children's Books Ireland Awards. Her second book The Deepest Breath won the Judges Special Award at the Children's Books Ireland Awards, was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize and was adapted for the stage by New York based theatre company Treehouse Shakers. It has also been optioned for film.

Baby Teeth was shortlisted for the An Post Irish Book of the Year Awards, was nominated for the Yoto Carnegie Medal and was a Kirkus Best YA Book of 2022. The Lonely Book, her most recent book, was also nominated for the Yoto Carnegie Medal. Her work has been translated into Spanish, French, Danish and Polish.

She was a recipient of the 2024 Markievicz award and is currently working on her first adult non-fiction.

Meg is passionate about helping other writers embrace their creativity and create work unique to them.
